Now here’s a Christmas story with some soul. Black Nativity is the re-enactment of the birth of Jesus with an all black cast. The play was originally written by Langston Hughes and first performed on Broadway on Dec 11th 1961 and has been adapted in theatres all around the country. This is the twentieth year that our Penumbra is showing Black Nativity and this year’s ensemble features the best jazz and gospel singers of the twin cities. It runs through December 28th though many weekend shows are already sold out so if you want to get a ticket hurry up. For more information click here.
