We will be having a star-studded weekend y’all. Three great acts, hope you can catch at least one. I have seen South African Vusi Mahlasela and Malian Rokia Traore perform before and can guarantee you will be not dissapointed. Both have great vocals, Vusi has that raw South African emotion and Rokia has somewhat of a mysterious, exotic Malian sound. Both are great on the guitar too. Rokia will be performing at Cedar Cultural Center tomorrow and Vusi at The Ordway on Saturday. Lula is an award winning LA-based choreographer who infuses African moves into her high-energy dances to drumbeats. She will be at The Ordway tomorrow.
